Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

This story officially started on October 9th.  After  nearly a month of Mark not feeling quite right after from what we thought was the flu, we went to the ER to address symptoms that we didn't understand, such as headaches, tiredness and having trouble thinking clearly and reading clearly.  Mark was admitted to the hospital after a CT Scan and MRI showed a mass on his brain. Within a day, it was determined he needed surgery to remove the mass. On October 11th Mark had successful surgery which removed most of the mass. It was biopsied and determined to be Glioblastoma IV brain cancer.  Mark spent a total of 1 week in the hospital and then 1 week in a rehab hospital. He recovered very well.  As a result of the cancer and the surgery, Mark lost partial vision in both eyes on the right side (hemianopsia) and he also struggles with reading fluently and word finding (expressive aphasia)

After release from the hospital we pursued treatment at the James Cancer Hospital.  He will start treatment on Monday, November 20th. He will be receiving radiation treatment and Temodar chemotherapy. Mark has also been entered into a clinical trial for this specific type of cancer which provides an additional drug.  We are believing that the LORD is providing Mark with this new drug that will destroy the cancer.

Please join with us in praying for Mark's healing! We know that with God all things are possible!

The Lord will fight for you; you need only be still Exodus 14:14

Through the Lord's mercies we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. "The Lord is my portion,"  says my soul, "therefore I hope in Him!" Lamentations 3:22-24
