Mark Rowden, beloved husband of Janet and father to Jane (28) and Peter (26), died and went to heaven on Tuesday, January 31, 2017.. Mark was the Pastor of Immanuel Presbyterian Church in Mesa, Arizona. He was a native of St. Louis, Mo., attended Kirkwood HS, and graduated from Covenant College and Covenant Theological Seminary.
On Thursday, January 26th, a horrific bicycle accident caused 3 breaks in his cervical spine area and 2 more breaks in his thoracic spine area. Immediate surgery removed a disc that was pressing on his spinal cord and fused vertebrae to stabilize his spine. His family and friends were able to converse with him expressing their love for five days as he laid in paralysis.
Mark's life will be celebrated at a memorial service on February 4. Mark leaves his loved ones and friends heartbroken, but he is now and eternally in the presence of our Savior and Creator, Jesus Christ, our Father and the Holy Spirit. We do not grieve as those who have no hope, but instead we are more than confident that we will spend eternity together in Christ.
