On December 18th, 2017 i became sick with pnemonia. Still not feeling well on December 25, feeling extremely weak i returned for a follow up at the Ely Clinic. I was then admited to the Ely Hospital for a boil in my left leg that began spread rapidly around my left thigh. The Ely Hospital ran lab work and discovered that i now had uncontrolled diabetes..with a glucose number of 500. The Ely Hospital opted to send me to St. Marys in Duluth. When arriving at St. Marys i was taken to the surgical icu where the doctors immediately took me to surgery. The surgery was to remove a bacterial infection known as Necrotizing fascititis. This effects less then 20,000 people a year in the u.s. there were 2 surgeriesfollowing the original surgury to be certain thst the entire infection was removed.
