As most of you may know, Margaret has been facing very serious health issues related to liver disease. Because her liver is no longer functioning adequately, it is necessary for her to receive a liver transplant. At the beginning of November, Margaret underwent many grueling tests and procedures at Vanderbilt University Medical Center over the course of a week. These tests must be completed before qualifying as an active liver transplant candidate and being placed on the waiting list. She also went further testing at Emory University after Thanksgiving. At this time, Margaret is waiting for all of her results and is not yet on the waiting list. But we are hopeful that this will happen soon!


Margaret’s condition means that she tires very easily, is in pain often, and is unable to do regular activities. One of the very hardest things for Margaret is not to be able to do regular things with William and Andrew. In addition, it is necessary for her to undergo an abdominal tap monthly. Mark and Mrs. Middleton are holding down the fort at home, taking care of William and Andrew along with everything else.  Stephanie (A life long friend of Margaret’s) and I (another old friend) will do our best to post regularly and when there are updates to keep you all informed about Margaret’s progress.
