Hello everyone. Mom / Margaret has had a really hard 7 -12 months, with multiple procedures and numerous hospitalization's. Her body is tired and worn out and her heart is damaged and weak. To bring you up to date, she had a TIA in September 2015 followed by a small heart attack in December 2015. Our family, at mom's request, agreed to have her Aortic Valve replaced. A procedure called a TAVR where they go in through the groin so no open heart surgery. The surgery was successful but not without complications. It was a long hard road to even begin recovery. Mom did fairly well and started to regain a little strength and was able to live in her independent apartment again. That lasted 6 days. On her birthday, February 7th she fell and broke her left hip. It was repaired with the placement of 3 pins. The road since then has been long and hard. She's fallen numerous times while in rehab, broken her ribs, has had 2 bouts of pneumonia and so on.

At this time she has a 2nd heart valve that is failing, a blocked artery, atrial fibrillation and a very weak heart, along with Dementia. With heavy hearts we have moved her back to her new apartment at Brookdale Assisted Living and hospice is in place. While we don't foresee anything eminent we want to have everything in place and keep her as comfortable and pain free as possible.
