[ Marc G Marion 1951-2021 ]

A good man has passed on from this world.  Marc Marion died peacefully in his home surrounded by family on Monday January 4th at 10:52pm.  He was 69 years of age.    Memorial information below in Journal entry.

A note from Christa, his daughter, January 5th, 2021:

“My precious dad passed away last night in his own home after a Herculean effort on all of my family , the caring and skilled staff at Skagit Valley Hospital and the incredible team at Hospice of the Northwest who pulled out all the stops and moved mountains to give Dad his final wish which was to make it home to be with his family in his final moments. The grief is unthinkable and this all happened so fast that we struggle to wrap our minds around the loss.

But one thing I know, is that my dad’s heart was huge and he held on long enough for us to get him home. He took his final breaths surrounded by his beloved family and with his dog nestling her head into his sweet hand.

This was a rare man, beloved by so many people whose lives have been touched and changed by his love. He will be forever missed.”

Thank you for visiting the CaringBridge site for Marc Marion (managed by his kids).  We were using this site to keep family and friends updated in one place during his battle with a serious lung disease that progressed rapidly around Christmas time.  Doctors don't know what causes the rare disease or the rapid progression (he was not a smoker, and tested negative for Covid).

If you've learned something from Mr Marion in your life and want to share it, feel free to leave a note on his Learning Legacy Board (please indicate what year you had him as a teacher or knew him and maybe even what you're doing in life/work now).

The Journal entries below have more information about his battle with the lung disease.
Memorial information is below in a Journal post.

 Thank you,
-Nathan & the Marion Family

Marc had written down one simple wish for Memorial Gifts:
"Buy a gift for someone you love and 'pass it on' ".
We'd recommend maybe helping a child in need with something that could help their education.

Due to Covid safety precautions we are unable to host an in-person Memorial service.
More information below regarding the online Memorial and walk.  Thank you.
