Hello all,
Some of you already know and for some of you this will be new information regarding my health. Following a time of vertigo and some headaches over the past year, my doctor recommended an MRI. The results of the MRI show a 15x14x14mm tumor in the 4th ventricle near my cerebellum. Yes, the news came as a shock. However, if you know me, you know my resolve is strong and keeping it light and looking at life on the positive side is how I roll!
My daughter Darcy is coming to Fairbanks this week and I’m SO excited to spend Christmas with all three kids; Tylan, Darcy, Tori and ALL the grandkids! :) Right after New Year’s I will be travelling with Tylan and daughter-in-law Bridget to the Portland area for a consultation with Dr. Ciporen, Director of Surgical Neuro-Oncology at the Oregon Health and Science University (OHSU). My mom and dad, Betty and Mike, sisters Casey and Terri, and friend Kim will also be with me.
Based on the information we have so far, I’m told surgery will be needed while I’m in Portland and ample time to recuperate. No, it’s not Rocket Science, but it is Brain Surgery after all! :) You may have a lot of questions, and we do too, but until we see the doc and formulate a plan, I’m going on faith folks!
My loved one’s tell me keeping my stress level low and taking things off my plate is a priority. As a result, we’ll be using this site as a means of updating you. Close friends and family will post updates periodically.
Thank you in advance for your support and your prayers.
