Thank you for visiting Marcia's caring bridge. My sister and I are aware of how many deep and meaningful friendships our mother has made through the years. We want to ensure that you each have an opportunity to stay informed of her condition and to express your thoughts and feelings to her.
Marcia is currently comfortably living in her apartment in the Aljoya Retirement community--as she has since she moved to Seattle in 2015. I live very nearby and enjoy lots of quality time with Mom. Marcia's health would otherwise be good, were it not for a tumor in her liver (which, two years previously, was in the form of breast cancer). She has undergone two different kinds of chemotherapy and some immunotherapy. Unfortunately, in each case, the side effects were too taxing on her system and could not be endured. She is opting now to stay clean of the medications, and to focus on enjoying the current moments of life with friends and family. ~Katy (3/5)
