As written by her mother, Bonnie Warren:

Manda suffered a massive stroke on Sunday morning sometime between 8 and 8:45am. Scott (her husband) found her on the floor in the nursery at 8:45. She was not able to speak clear, hadn't remember things clearly and could not move the entire left side of her body. We called 911 and the paramedics took her immediately. The 911 operator asked me many questions and we figured she had a stroke. They were very prepared and the paramedics had been speaking with the doctors at united and there was a team ready and waiting for her. They found that her carotid artery was torn. She had no blood flow when she got to the hospital. They found 2 blood clots in her brain and were able to remove only one. The other one was buried too far behind the brain for the Dr to safely remove. She was immediately put on TPA, a clot busting medication used in these cases.

She had an MRI on Monday. They were looking to see what the damages were from the stroke. They also wanted to check all her vessels and blood flow as well as the blood clot still in place. By the grace of GOD the TPA had destroyed the blood clot and was gone when they looked at the MRI. The area for that detects the stroke was huge. Her neurologist said her stroke was massive and only time will tell the long term effects.

Manda was able to sit up with the help of OT yesterday, Tuesday. She continues to make progress and we celebrate every baby step as though it was a mountain. She still has no movement in her left arm but we are all optimistic.

Manda's husband Scott is amazing. They have a 2 month old baby boy and a 4 year old little girl. Scott is balancing his time between Manda and the kids. Manda will begin intense OT and PT immediately. She will stay in the ICU until most likely the end of the week.
Manda will be moved to a rehab inpatient facility from the hospital. We are hoping for Sister Kenny in Abbott as her best friend and PA Kjerstin works there and will see her every day. We feel it is important to be around people all the time as you can imagine how your spirits can be crushed to know that your life has changed in a single moment. She will be taken away from her children for a period that no one knows. All I know is one day is too many. We vow that there will not be one day that goes by that she will see the kids. We will take them to spend time and meals with her every day.

Our family has been shaken like nothing we have ever experienced. The road to Manda's recovery is long. Only time will tell the outcome. She has a lot of very hard work ahead of her and I pray she finds the strength and courage to attack this from the depth of her soul!
We have an amazing close family and with her 3 sisters and all the rest of our family members and friends, we are out to conquer!
People say she is a fighter because of all the things she has had to battle in her young life. She preserved through cancer and limb lengthening, I know she can do this too. Unfortunately it doesn't make it any easier emotionally to watch this beautiful 31 year mom, wife, daughter, sister, prayer warrior, and GOD living amazing woman go through this. She is one of the most faith based people I know. She raises her family under the loving hands of our loving Heavenly Father. She is a true daughter of GOD and I am so proud to be her mom.
Please pray for our family as we journey through the unknown. To pray that this beautiful young lady will return to the capacity that the good Lord will allow. GOD has a plan for her and although I am not sure what that is, we continue to hold on knowing that His plan is in action and that we trust in Him.
