Mallory was born with Ebstein’s Anomaly & ASD (atrial septal defect). She had her 1st open heart surgery at 12 years old to repair her tricuspid valve. 1 year later she had an amplatzer device installed to repair the ASD. At 15 she faced her 2nd open heart surgery. This time a bi- directional glenn procedure to re route her plumbing & take the load off of her right ventricle. Within the next 10 years or so she faced many more procedures. Ablations, cardio versions , and several hospital stays due to her ongoing heart rhythm issues. Eventually she was in heart failure. In 2019 she was told she would need a transplant. In November of 2019 she faced her 3rd & 4th open heart surgery. This time to buy her some time until transplant. A pig valve was put in to replace her severely leaky tricuspid valve & at the same time a pacemaker was put in. Unfortunately she developed a bleed post up and was taken back into surgery that same night. Her glenn was also tweaked as it was beginning to do more harm than good. On February 18, 2021 mallory was admitted to Cleveland Clinic for intravenous meds while waiting on a heart. On March 1, she had her 5th open heart to install an RVAD pump (right ventricular assist device) and to pave the way for transplant as her team felt it was too high risk to do everything that needed to be done on transplant day. Miraculously just 3 days later she received news they had a heart for her! On March 4, 2021 she was given the gift of life & had her heart transplant ❤️🫀🙏🏻. She continues to recover making progress every day until we finally get to bring her home. She is the true meaning of a WARRIOR & amazes all who love her with her fighting spirit.
