Maddison Wignall

Maddison loves living life and spending time with her friends on new adventures.   She recently set out to explore the world.  The first week of her trip, she spent the week traveling alone, spending the first three days in Amsterdam and a couple of days in Portugal before meeting up with her friends in Split, Croatia to board a yacht for "yacht week," to travel the Islands of Croatia.  They sailed to Trogir, Vis, Konica, Hvar, Starigrad and Bol. 



While in Bol, they group set out exploring on scooters.  The scooter that Maddison and her friend were riding was struck by a truck on the roadway, both she and her friend were injured.  Maddison sustained multiple broken bones, including her shoulders, upper arms, collar bones, and ribs.  Her friend suffered internal injuries.  Maddison and her friend were transported down the mountain and life-flighted to the hospital in Split, Croatia.  Due to Maddison's condition, she cannot yet travel home to the United States. 



Maddison will undergo surgery tomorrow (September 10, 2018), to pin both of her arms.  This will be the first step to get her home.


Maddison has family who have traveled to Split, Croatia to be with her through this journey and has family at home navigating and organizing her return home.
