Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your prayers, support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

Earlier this summer Maddie started having pain in her shoulder.  She had been a pitcher on her softball team, so it was assumed the pain was related to that.  As the summer went on, the pain didn't go away and slowly got worse.  In the fall, Maddie was seen by the doctor and started physical therapy in hopes to alleviate the pain.  By November, the pain was getting so unbearable, she was seen in the ER.  Nothing was discovered at that time and an appointment with a physical medicine MD was scheduled.  Maddie saw the MD on Wednesday November 28th and upon seeing the XRay that was taken in the ER, knew something was not right.  He wanted her to be seen in Rochester and Maddie was admitted to the hospital in Rochester that night.
On Thursday, November 29th Maddie got the news that no one was expecting.  They had discovered a cancerous tumor in her shoulder blade.
On December 3rd Maddie got a dignisois, but it was not at all what anyone was hoping for.  Maddie has been diagnosed with Ewing’s Sarcoma, a rare and aggressive bone cancer.   The cancer has spread to many area of her body including her arms, legs, pelvis, spine and bone above her eye. Her treatment will consist of 15 rounds of chemo, all needing to be done inpatient in Rochester.  She will also under go 6 weeks of radiation, also needing to be done in Rochester. The treatment will last at a minimum of 32 weeks.
Please keep Maddie and her family in your thoughts and prayers as she goes through this journey.
