I am a Phoenix. I rise from the ashes. This rendition of a phoenix , I stitched in the winter of 2017, while I was on disability leave due to crippling osteoarthritis in my left knee. After I showed it in the Lodi Agricultural Fair and the Columbia County Fair, I gave it to the physical therapists at UW Health at the American Center, to remind them of what they do every day -- help people rise up.

I got my bum knee fixed, and beat lymphoma, but now I'm living with congestive heart failure, A-fib, no thyroid and breast cancer.  Life is hard, but life is good.
