Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.
Many reading this already have known about Lynette's battle with gastric cancer, but as the journey continues we'd like to be able to share with all of you what's been happening.   In Fall of 2015, doctors discovered cancer in Lynette's stomach. What started as simple acid reflux turned into a whirlwind of alarming symptoms that took a major physical toll on her. Doctors at the Mayo Clinic determined that surgery was the best option, but recommended chemotherapy first to shrink the cancer growing in her stomach lining. Due to the symptoms caused by where the cancer was growing, Lynette needed a feeding tube to get strong enough to withstand chemo. It was such a scary experience! We will forever be baffled at how long it took to get the feeding tube that she needed, but we are so thankful that she quickly regained her strength.   Lynette completed the chemo cycle and surgery was scheduled for April of 2016 at Mayo Clinic. Doctors removed 90% of her stomach and were very pleased with how the surgery went. She recovered beautifully through the spring and summer, and we were so happy to get the report of a clear scan in July.   Her story continues in the first journal update. Thank you for your love, your compassion, and MOST of all, your prayers for Lynette and our family.  We so appreciate you!
