Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your overflowing support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.
On Tuesday, April 7 at 21 weeks and 4 days of pregnancy, Lyndi's water broke (preterm premature rapture of membranes commonly abbreviated as (P)PROMs). She was taken to the University of Iowa Hospitals antepartum unit by ambulance due to the quick action and care of Broadlawns Medical Center in Des Moines. Andrew and Bunsen, the dog, are also in Iowa City with Dave and Sandi (Andrew's parents). They are extremely thankful for being in the care of the professionals at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.
Everything is currently stable and hoping to stay pregnant for many more weeks but things could change at any minute. Lyndi will be closely monitored at the UIHC until delivery. On Friday the 17th they will be 23 weeks along. The baby continues to have a good heartbeat and is growing right on track.
We ask for your prayers and good vibes for Lyndi and Andrew and Baby Schutt! We believe in the power of prayer and positive energy and appreciate all that you send.
Update (4/18/20): Etta Edith Schutt arrived on Thursday, April 16 at 5:17 pm, weighing 1 pound 3 ounces, and 12 inches long. Etta is in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at the University of Iowa Hospital and is doing well. Etta was Lyndi's Grandma Buckingham's name, and Edith is Andrew's beloved Grandma Brown.
