I am blessed to have much love in my life --- surrounded by family and good friends! My journey with grief started with my maternal grandpa affectionately known as PopPop -- I was living with him and my parents at the time of his passing in 1990, so was lucky to have spent some quality time with him. Just four years later, I lost my father to lung cancer. 3 years after that lost my mom to what I believe was a broken heart. These losses definitely molded me to the person I am today and helped me better deal with many losses I would experience in the years to come. In 2007 my husband Nathan was diagnosed with chronic heart issues and was sick on and off until his passing in 2014 --- only 3 years earlier I lost my big sister Kathy in 2011 to lung cancer after only 2 weeks after her diagnosis. Sadly grief was not yet done with me --- only a few months after Nathan passed his brother (my brother-in law) Kirk passed and most recent my big brother Donald passed away in May of this year 2017 -- after losing his long battle to lung cancer. So you see I know a little bit about this thing called grief -- I take the strength from my loved ones to get up each morning and live my life in a different as they are no longer with me psychically - but know in my heart they are ALL around me, watching over me, and helping me get through each day. It is my love for them that I am starting this blog - Hope it helps in some way. -- Lynda
