As you all know, Lori has had a really, really, tough couple years. About 2 years ago, Lori was diagnosed with follicular lymphoma. It's a nonaggressive lymphoma that is only treated when it becomes angry. For the first year, all was well, but March 17 brought her into the ER with severe abdominal pain requiring an appendectomy. Some abnormalities were found and biopsies sent to pathology, but lymphoma was suspected. It took a couple weeks for pathology reports due to the complexity of lymphoma typing. We now know it is triple hit lymphoma, a rare and very aggressive  form of lymphoma. She will begin a very difficult chemotherapy program that will include a full week of very aggressive chemotherapy followed by 2 weeks off chemotherapy. She will get 6-8 cycles of that schedule. Chemotherapy will be at the Charlevoix infusion center. She will be on a few days of continuous chemo via portable pump. Prayers, prayers and more prayers for healing are a first request! We know Lori has sooo many people who love her and want to help.So many of you have already been such a huge blessing to her during this time, and we are so grateful.  During treatment, she will be very tired and her immunity lowered, so we/family are asking visits and phone calls to be minimal. Please feel free to send cards, or text her, but please understand if she does not get back to you it is because family will be encouraging her to rest. A meal train has been set up and you can e-mail Kate at skchanda00@yahoo.com if you would like to join. We plan to keep all of you updated through this site as often as we can. Lori is an incredible, loving, and sweet lady! She is very strong in her faith and relying on God with the help of family and friends to get her through this. She loves to laugh and is so great at making others laugh and feel better about themselves. My hope is that we can surround her with the same joy and love she brings to all of our lives. Please encourage her to continue to become stronger in her faith, and give messages of hope to give her strength. It's a blessing to love and be loved by Lori.
