Welcome to Lois's CaringBridge website!  We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support, prayers and words of hope, encouragement and strength to fight. After over 2+ months of battling a horrible cough which kept being diagnosed as bronchitis , mom finally got in to her regular doctor and a chest x-ray was ordered. Unfortunately that chest x-ray came back with that possibility of  "C" word in her right lung, that  no one ever wants to hear.  Mom had a biopsy done at Mayo in Mankato on Thursday, October 6th. The doctor's were honest and told her it does not look good. The mass is about 7cm and contained to her right lung, unfortunately the size of the mass and growth is effecting her windpipe which is blocking her airway and will keep her from being a candidate for surgery at this time. The biopsy results have put her cancer at Stage 3B Lung Cancer (B stands for mass/tumor larger than 3cm), thankfully all the other tests they have ran besides the biopsy have shown that the cancer has not spread anywhere else. As the cancer is at Stage 3 already and her airway is being constricted her plan of attack will be an aggressive one.  Please keep our mom in your thoughts and prayers as she takes on this battle. She is not alone in this fight, she is strong and stubborn and has a lot to fight for (family - including 9 grandchildren who she absolutely loves to watch them grow and spoil them with sugar and send them home to mom and dad).  We'll do our best to keep you updated, mom does not care for social media sites so this is the best way to keep you updated without blowing up Facebook and we're hoping it will help limit the phone calls she receives so she can use her down time to rest. Thank you for all your support, we greatly appreciate it!

Lots of love,
