Thank you for visiting our caring bridge site, we created this site to keep all our family, friends, church family and coworkers updated in one place on Harper.  For some of you this maybe the first time hearing this information, but we must be the bearer of some devastating news that our family recently received.  Our family was admitted at Children’s Hospital in Minneapolis Monday February 3rd.  Over the last few weeks Harper has had on and off fevers and intermittent pain in her legs. We took her into urgent care and they checked her out and said if she was still experiencing pain in a week to bring her back in.  On Monday Feb 3rd she was complaining of leg pain and a fever. We felt she needed to be seen so we brought her to the nearby clinic. After checking her over and knowing her symptoms they felt it was important to get blood work. Her blood work results came back and they suggested we go to Children’s for additional tests as her white blood cells were higher than normal and her hemoglobin was low. After waiting for 2 hours in the emergency room Harper was seen and they admitted her so she could be seen faster, after additional tests at Children’s they informed us of some heart-breaking information that our baby, Harper has Leukemia. One of the initial steps to fight this was to perform a blood transfusion which didn’t start until after she was sleeping hard, she had to be woken up for this procedure and she was not very happy about being woken up by the doctors and having her vitals checked so many times throughout the night. After a rough night on a positive note she didn’t have any negative reactions to her new blood.

Please keep our family in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult journey. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.
