Lisa Vialpando Not Done Yet

Welcome to my CaringBridge website. I am using it to keep family and friends updated in one place.  As all of you know by now, I have been undergoing chemo therapy treatments and whole body radiation and gamma knife radiation these past few months for a brain tumor.  To make a long story short, I started having seizures and losing time and forgetting a lot in late July of this year. After an MRI, and multiple tests I was diagnosed with a Stage IV glioblastoma (multifiorm) brain tumor. Prognosis is approximately 4-6 months life expectancy but  I have never allowed a bad prognosis to dictate my life. I do not want to post this on Facebook so I thought this would be a great way to let those who love me know how I am doing and how things are progressing.
I have completed my 5th round of chemo using the drug avastin. This “new” drug is helping to kill the blood vessels around the latest tumor in my lower left brain. Thanks to a dear friend, I am able to receive gamma knife radiation treatments rather than the whole body radiation treatments that knock me down big time. The gamma knife treatments do not knock me out of life as badly. I am currently awaiting the results from my latest MRI scan to see if the tumor has shrunk, grown, or ? To know that I have the love and prayers of the ones I love means the world to me.  I appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement and as always, your prayers. . Thank you for visiting. All my love.
