Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

Following my annual physical and mammogram on Thursday, August 3rd, 2017, I received a call that evening from my Primary Care Physician and she said I likely had Cancer and needed to go see Dr. James Pellicane, the Director of Breast Oncology at the Bon Secours Cancer Institute in Richmond, VA.  It is Crazy that only a year ago, my mammogram was clear.

Fortunately, I was able to get in quickly and my first appointment was Wednesday, August 9th.  It is an aggressive Cancer and because of it's size and being in a lymph node, he categorized it as Stage III.  So now we begin the battle!

Tomorrow, Monday, August 14th, I have surgery to insert the port for Chemo Therapy and they will also do a lymph node biopsy.  2 days later on Wednesday, I am scheduled for a CT Scan and an Electrocardiogram.

Chemo Therapy starts on Friday, August 18th and the schedule as of now is, one day, every 3 weeks for 4-1/2 months.  Then a short break before Radiation Treatment.

David is going to be updating My Journal here for me, if you see an entry saying, 'Lisa's procedure...' that would him making a Journal Update.
