Lisa Howsare

Welcome to our CaringBridge site. It has been created to keep friends and family updated about our loved one Lisa Howsare. Lisa was diagnosed with breast cancer in May 2007 and completed treatment in December 2007. On January 13, 2009 she was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer which means it has spread in her body - they have found some in her bones.

We won't dwell on the diagnosis because that is out of our hands, rather we will focus on supporting Lisa by praying for her and keeping her faith and spirits strong by letting her know that she is surrounded by love and hope.

"Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God. Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perserverance, perserverance, character, and character, hope. And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us. (Romans 5:1-5)

We have so many blessings in our lives to be thankful for and we will continue to count those blessings and remember that each day is a gift that we have been given to share and live to the fullest of our abilities.

The next phase in this treatment is an appointment at Duke University on January 27th. Please pray for a safe journey, and for the Drs., nurses, and staff with whom we will be meeting. I will post a report to this site after the appointment to update you.

For those of you who know Lisa very well you know 2 things that ALWAYS lift her up, make her feel much better, and never fail to put a smile on her face -

1) a new pocketbook

2) and a new pair of shoes. After-all, her personal motto is fashioned after the wise Princess Cinderella: "One shoe can change a girls life!"

So, if you see her running around with a lot of new shoes and pocketbooks know that this is an "alternative" or "natural" form of healing she's giving a try. I am confident she will be very successful!!

Please visit the website often and sign-in to leave a message. Our family is blessed to have such a loving community of friends and we thank you all for your love, prayers, and support of our family.

Love,

Rhonda Watson
