Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting. I began feeling short of breath and went to the doctor on May 3, 2017. Doctor did bloodwork, xray and EKG and found I had fluid around right lung. I was sent for a CT chest then to a Pulmonary doctor to do a thoracentesis to aspirate the fluid and test it. On May 11, 2017 results were that I had Adenocarcinoma with no known origin. I followed up with my gynecologist , who did an exam and a CA-125. Those results came back that my CA-125 was over 2200 after having same test in August 2016 with a test result of 14. It was verified the origin was ovarian cancer in the peritoneal cavity. Many tests have been performed. I was referred to a gynecological oncologist at Novant Health Cancer Center in Charlotte where I was given hope in attacking this terrible disease. The plan of attack is to begin with 3 rounds of chemotherapy, 3 weeks apart, followed by surgery then intense chemotherapy. With the support of my wonderful family, friends and prayers from many others I begin the journey on May 30 with my first round of chemotherapy.
