Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.
I'm Linda's daughter, Debra (or as my childhood friends & family know me - Debbie). With Linda, I'll be updating this site during our visit to Mayo Clinic the week of July 17.
Mom's medical condition has gone on for years, but the last few months, her abdominal pain has escalated. On June 30, Mom got up to shower & go to the casino with her friend (and my hero) Fran. When Mom called to say she was in terrible pain & couldn't go, Fran said: "Why don't we take a little trip to the emergency room?" This led to a 3-day hospital stay, a CT scan, and the identification of a number of medical concerns.
The wonderful GI doctor at St. Joseph Medical Center in South Bend,  suggested any one of the problems found on CT scan could be causing the pain - or a combination of all of them. He suggested a "university level" assessment. Thus, our trip to Mayo.
The CT showed an abdominal aortic aneurysm, a small intestinal loop hernia, and a number of other issues.
We are expected to be at Mayo 3-5 days. I'll provide updates here as I get them. Pray for Mom. It's a tough time right now.  Thanks everyone, D
