In case you have not heard, I slipped on Friday (the 13th) and broke my ankle--fracturing it in several places. Since the initial trauma and my ride in an ambulance I have consulted with a specialist and have outpatient surgery scheduled for Monday, the 23rd. The doctor said that it will be 4-6 months until a full recovery, but I should regain some level of mobility well before then. The good news is that I have a lot of confidence in my surgeon, am not in a lot of pain, and have a wonderful network of family, friends, and neighbors offering their help.   .

I will be using this CaringBridge site to keep everyone up-to-date on my condition. Also, I will need help with day-to-day errands, meals, driving, and over night assistance until I am more mobile. Thanks for all of your thoughtful expressions of concern. I look forward to your messages and promise to keep you updated through the CaringBridge.
