I was diagnosed June 19, 2017 with ovarian cancer that had spread through the abdomen—Stage 4.  The good news is that I am under the care of Dr. Camille Gunderson, a brilliant young gynecological oncologist at the Stephenson Cancer Center on the campus of the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center in Oklahoma City, right across the street from where I worked (and from which I am recently retired) at the Oklahoma Center for the Advancement of Science and Technology (OCAST) located in the OU Research Park, and about 6 blocks from where I live in Bricktown.  Dr. Gunderson says ovarian cancer, though nearly impossible to catch in the early stages, is nevertheless treatable with surgery and chemo with about an 80% success rate.  I'm taking that as good news!  I will use Caring Bridge to post developments, thoughts, prayer requests as they come.  This should be simpler for those who want to receive updates.  Thank you for sharing the journey with our family!
