Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and encouragement. Thanks for visiting.

So, the short version of my story is that in October 2015, my primary care doctor said, "That murmur is sounding pretty bad.  Time to have an echocardiogram and see a cardiologist."  Well, since then I've had two echos, a heart cath, a TEE, and a heart CT that provided a lovely 3-D picture of an unusual, very rare anomaly in which my left coronary artery actually rises from the left side of my heart.  Fortunately, it causes no problems and does not interfere with the necessary surgery.  It is just an oddity that came with the package at birth.

Since October 2015, I've also met a wonderful cardiologist, Dr. Joy (Juwuno Sutjedo) and a great cardiac surgeon, Dr. Sasha Kraev.  I've been poked and prodded, had IV's, blood draws, and flu and pneumonia immunizations.  All with a smile on my face and in spite of the fact I never even had a flu shot til last year cause I'm a big sissy about shots!  The upshot is that I have aortic stenosis and an aortic aneurysm.

Fast forward to February 2017.....and my aortic valve replacement is scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 23.  I'm hoping that those of you who visit my site will take time on Thursday to send good thoughts, positive images, and blessings my way.
