Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. It's been a tough few weeks for Lilette with no end in sight. Dan has been with her for the past three weeks and it's simply been so busy and exhausting that it's hard to find the time to contact everyone. So here we have CaringBridge!
Lil was in her usual state of health and had the support of her long-time aide Marlene until recently when she took a fall (nothing broken, thank you very much!) but was nonetheless inappropriately admitted to the hospital overnight. Since returning home the following morning she became increasingly hesitant to do anything on her own and her overall state started to deteriorate rapidly. Added to that Marlene discovered that her own illness had become much worse. She is no longer able to be Lil's companion and aide, which has been a sore blow to them both. She is now largely bed-bound, though she still rises briefly a few times a day with the help of two excellent home health aides that Dan found. She will now always have company, 24 hours a day and assistance with whatever she needs.
She does not want visitors, but Dan tells her of everyone's good wishes for her. Feel free to share this CaringBridge page with anyone we may have missed, and we'll post updates here as they happen. If you register for the CaringBridge site you will get an email automatically alerting you to a new post. If you don't, you'll have to come back here whenever you want to see if there's anything new.
