Les Veal

Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement and covet your prayers.   Les has been feeling terrible for the past eight weeks.  No appetite, cough, lots of upper respiratory type issues. He went to the doctor three times - each time they put him on stronger antibiotics and steroids trying to kick what they deemed was a bad infection.  He just completely lost his appetite and in that amount of time has lost 75 lbs.    I pushed him to push them to do a full bloodwork panel - and on last Friday, they realized they were dealing with something that was much more serious and ordered a full panel - and scans of his neck and his chest as they discovered a lump in his neck.  Today they did the ct scans - and we received the call that they he has enlargened lymph nodes and from the looks of his bloodwork all indications  is he has a cancer that has metastasized into his lymph nodes from an unknown place in his body.   He has a lot of pain in his chest so we are only guessing that is where it is located.   We are being referred to an oncologist and hopefully will see them this week for more specific tests.
