On August 8, 2018, Leah gave birth to Adeline Rose Lewis by way of c-section. Things went well,  with mom and baby going home that Friday as scheduled.  A week and a half later on Monday, August 20, Leah woke up with bleeding so her husband, Jason, brought her to ER. She was diagnosed with postpartum hemorrhaging, gave her medication to help, and sent her home. A few hours later, the bleeding continued to get worse. At this point, they went back to the ER where she was kept for observation. After another few hours the bleeding worsened and the doctors decided to do an exploratory surgery to find the source of the bleeding. During her surgery, it was decided to do an emergency hysterectomy. Leah came out of surgery late Monday night. Tuesday morning, the bleeding continued, and her condition worsened so a second surgery was performed in the afternoon to try to stop it. She's lost a lot of blood throughout the process, and has needed many transfusions.  We ask that you keep her in your thoughts and prayers.

If you would like to help, all we ask is please donate blood at your next blood drive. It's these donations that have helped save our Leah.
