Layla Rose was due on September 26. However, she had other plans and could not wait to meet her new family! On June 4, at 23 weeks gestation she entered the world kicking and screaming. Even though she is very very young, Layla is a fighter. She weighed in at 1 lb and 3 oz and only 11.5 inches long. All throughout the pregnancy Layla was a kicker, puncher, mover and shaker. Out of the womb and she hasnt changed a bit! She has many fans come see her daily and her mommies and brother are always there to talk and encourage her. Layla has a long road of recovery and growth but with her warrior spirit and sassy attitude we know its going to be a happy one. Mommy found out she ppromed at 21 weeks and was on strict bedrest until 23 weeks when she got very sick. She had developed Chorioamnionitis and both Layla and mommy were at severe risk. That combined with placenta previa created not a good environment for Layla to continue to grow. We ask that you pray, send good energy, and encourage Layla and our family from a far. If we don't text back or call back right away please understand that we are very busy and focusing all of our energy on our baby girl getting better and bigger. We will be posting on this site daily updates and statuses. Please also respect that while they may not be the most detailed, we need to keep some things private as we navigate our emotions and understanding as well.
