On Saturday night, August 20th, Laci was in a car accident in Pelham near her mother's house. She immediately called Christopher to let him know and that she was hurt; he had been working in Auburn Saturday and  immediately began his drive to UAB to meet them at the Emergency Room. She also called her mom (Olivia) to tell her the same and her mom arrived at the scene of the accident in time to ride with Laci in the ambulance to hospital. She was pretty banged up with visible injuries and once she arrived to the ER, they discovered she had a broken pelvis, a damaged blood vessel in her neck and two broken vertebrae, and then admitted her to ICU to watch her closely. Fortunately, the pelvis has been anticipated as the only required surgery, which they were able to do on Monday and that went very well! Laci is now moving towards a long, yet anticipated full recovery!

At this time, they request no visitors but appreciate all of your kinds words of encouragement and prayers added to the journal of this caringbridge site. Also, in order for Christopher and Olivia to spend as much time as they can taking care of Laci, and less time on the phone, we ask that you use this website to receive updates and limit direct contact through phone as much as possible. Thank you for your continued support and care. Your prayers have been felt and greatly appreciated!
