Hi - If you're reading this, it's probably because you're among Ken Kaye's friends, family, and fans. Thanks for checking out this site, designed to provide periodic updates to how Ken is doing.
Very Quick Backstory: Ken was diagnosed with aggressive brain cancer (glioblastoma) this winter. After surgery to remove the tumor, followed by a couple of weeks' recovery, in early April Ken suffered a series of intense seizures that required a long stay in Evanston Hospital. His hospitalization was a traumatic, terrible combination of several unlucky factors: The seizures impaired Ken's ability to communicate, powerful anti-seizure meds made it difficult to think clearly, and COVID protocols severely restricted visitors. For most of the 2.5 weeks Ken was confused, physically restrained, and alone. As Ken's recovery took longer than expected, making him weaker and prone to infection, the doctors recommended home hospice care. On April 22nd, Janice and Ken's four kids - Hope, Michelle, Nick and Lev - welcomed Ken home. Since then, Ken's gotten stronger, more lucid, and more like his pre-seizure self, complete with his famous sense of humor.
Ken, Janice and his family are now taking each day as it comes, adjusting to an uncertain rollercoaster and attempting to enjoy the 'ups' and hold on tight during the 'downs.'
