Back in June, during some testing for pain in my hip, a mass was discovered in my lower abdominal area.  The area where my uterus would be, had I not had a hysterectomy years ago.  Due to the size of the mass, further testing was done.  After bloodwork, and more scans, it was determined that the mass was cancerous.  The doctors decided to take an aggressive approach and get it removed ASAP.

Since this all happened a week before Jerico was to graduate high school, I requested that we put off the surgery until after graduation, our family vacation, and he ship out to Boot Camp.  Well, it turns out that was probably for the best.  I had to get clearance from my primary care doctor, cardiology, and an internist, due to being high risk for surgery.  Now that all of that is complete, I am scheduled to have the mass removed.  Surgery is scheduled for July 13th at 2:30 in the afternoon.
