  As many of you know Kd has been diagnosed with Lyme Disease and a secondary or co-infection of Babesia and POTS.  Kd has been suffering from severe migranes, broken bones and various side effects for the past 7 years.
   Traditional doctors,neurologists,DuPont specialists, chiropractors,a chiropractor neurologist and an acupuncturist could not find any answers and could find no reason for her debilitating headaches.
  We were recommended to Dr, Martin Mulders,M.D. in Wayne,Pa.  He is a doctor whose mission is "Helping you find the missing pieces to your health". He diagnosed Kd in October 2012 with Lyme Disease and Babesia. These are both bacterial infections caused by a tick bite.  He tried many medications, IV's ( thru a picc line in her arm), supplements and various combinations of these, but to no avail, in relieving her headaches and other symptoms.  Needless to say he was extremely frustrated with this situation. He then referred Kd to "The Healing Arts Center" in Hyde Park, N.Y. ( this is 4 hours from our home in Spring City  and 3 hours from Schroon Lake,N.Y.)
  She was seen by Dr. Richard Horowitz and his coworker John Fallon. 
They continued with a holistic approach and a combination of prescription medications.  They are confident that they will be able to get to the bottom of this and help her to heal. The doctors were concerned with the reactions Kd was having to the medicines.  They sent her to an allergy specialist to find out which medications may be showing up as allergic reactions. Kd did not test positive for any allergies to the medications.  The doctors now feel she may have "Herxheimers Reaction".  This is a result of endotoxin release as the co-infections are dying off and breaking down.  The symptoms are numerous and can include an increase in joint and muscle pain, increased severity of headaches, hives, rashes and decreased blood pressure.  The Healing Arts Center has now sent Kd to "The Waves of Hope".  They work closely with the Certified Ondamed Practitioners. This is a non invasive therapy which deals with the body's natural cycles and rhythms. 
  Kd had an initial session last week which went well.  She had a second appointment today (6/27) and has 4 more scheduled. The therapist asked Kd to rate her headache pain.  The pain has lessened since her initial visit, this is a good  sign.  Kd, Krissy, Chester, Emmy and I are at Schroon Lake for the Summer.  Please feel free to send mail to 288 East Shore Drive, Adirondack, N.Y.12808, or to leave messages on this page.
