Katrina Lewis

After a routine mammogram, Katrina received news that her results showed a lump that the doctor wanted to test with a needle biopsy.  On the afternoon of August 8, 2016 Katrina received the call that puts fear in the hearts of so many women (and men too!)..the biopsy confirmed that the lump was cancerous and the doctor wanted to operate as quickly as possible.  Katrina was fearful, but she was quickly surrounded by family and friends who showered her with prayers, love and words of encouragement.  She was assured that she is so much more than this diagnosis!!  So many friends reached out to her with their stories of diagnosis, treatment and ultimately SURVIVAL.

On August 31, Katrina had a lumpectomy and 4 lymph nodes removed for further testing.  When she returned to her doctor on September 14, the doctor explained that Katrina's cancer was found in her lymph nodes and she would require further treatment for Stage 2 Breast Cancer.   In order to progress with her chemotherapy, Katrina had a port surgically implanted on September 21.    

As a single mother, Katrina truly knows what it means to rely on God as her rock and where she can find refuge!  Her faith has not waivered as she faces the road ahead.  Please keep Katrina, her daughters, and her family in your prayers as she travels through her treatment to survival!
