Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

Kathy's story in a few short sentences is what the page is asking for? How do you describe this wife, mother, "Nama", best friend, sister, mentor, Bible study buddy, etc. without filling pages upon pages? The nice thing is if you have the pleasure of knowing Kathy you have your own amazing and unique response to this question. We quickly realized this by reading a few texts and emails she has received over the last few days. God has filled Kathy with many graces that she shares with so many every day. Kathy was recently diagnosed with Stage IV pancreatic cancer. About a month ago she was not feeling herself and noticed she was feeling more fatigued than her usual spunky self. This progressed into discomfort and pain. With further concern she received testing that would shock us all beyond belief.

We are currently scrambling to see doctors, secure appointments, explore treatment options and trials. This takes time and diligence. We also recognize a sense of urgency is also required, especially to begin managing her pain better. Things are in motion with various appointments but she has not started any treatment yet.  We have an appointment in Detroit on Wednesday and are hoping for answers.

We can not thank you enough for the overwhelming amount of people committed to prayer. Our family believes in the miraculous power of prayer and healing.  At every turn we are experiencing "God moments" that are getting us through the day to day. There is great comfort knowing at any given time Kathy is in your thoughts and prayers with countless rosaries, Divine Mercy chaplets, novenas, and devotions being prayed. A simple prayer of "Thy Will be done" or "Jesus I trust in You" is also a beautiful way to help Kathy and our family.

Kathy and Dave are staying in Spring Lake enjoying the fresh air and lake breezes. They have the support of their children and their spouses, Julie (Chris), Lisa (Brent), Brad (Bridgette) and Blake (Lauren). The eight grandchildren provide a wonderful distraction. Amidst the busy schedule we are trying our best to make time for rest and relaxation for Kathy.
