Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.
A friend of ours told us about this site and encouraged us to set it up so we could keep people updated on what is going on easier. As some of you know on October 20th Karoline, Carl, and I were out to eat with Karoline’s mom and siblings when she became unresponsive when we were out to eat. She was taken to the hospital by ambulance where they tested her for a stroke or aneurysm. Then they scheduled her for an EEG and MRI and referred her to a neurologist. The paperwork said to call to set up the appointment. When she did she was told she couldn’t get in until June. So , I started making phone calls and got her in to see a doctor in Bismarck. After she had the EEG and MRI, that evening October 30th, she was sleeping she fell out of bed and was unresponsive.   When we saw the neurologist, he said she was having seizures and began adding a different medication. The addition of new symptoms  and no relief had us concerned so we reached out and didn’t hear back from the neurologist office until we called. He saw us again after Thanksgiving, we brought her images and reports that he didn’t have at the first visit. He didn’t look at any of the images we brought with us but instead used the findings from the radiology reports.  Frustrated that the neurologist wasn’t listening. Karoline had lost over thirty pounds since her first episode. We went to Karoline’s primary doctor and asked for a referral to a different neurologist as well as referral to Mayo Clinic.
