Welcome to our CaringBridge site. We've created it to keep friends and family updated. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement during this time when it matters most. Karen has suffered further spinal cord injury - a combination of recent severe fall when her powerchair threw her off, and continuing arthritic degeneration in and around the spine. Results similar to first spinal cord injury Feb 2014 when she lost use of her legs: numbness waist to toes,inability to stand and transfer unassisted, severe pain in back and between ribs. Seen by spine surgeon Mon Dec 12,2016 and immediately admitted to Abbott Northwestern Hospital for MRI and probable corrective spine surgery
