Welcome to our CaringBridge site. We've created it to keep friends and family updated. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement during this time when it matters most.

Karen and her family need our help!

She has been diagnosed with Stage 4 terminal brain cancer (glioblastoma) and will be undergoing aggressive radiation and chemotherapy - which will start toward the end of this month - the prognosis even with this aggressive treatment is 12 months or less. At this time, her husband and son have been providing all of her daily care and while at the moment she is coherent and in good sprits it seems to not be a good idea to leave her alone. Jim needs to get back some time during the weekdays so he can work (he is a self-employed landscape designer/contractor). So the request at this time is to see if we can't start coordinating some time between 10:00 am - 4 pm to allow Jim and Taylor to continue to work and ensure that Karen has some assistance. We are exploring some options through Kaiser for health aide or something of that nature as she is mobile but needs some help getting herself bathed/fed and just lend a listening ear and a hand to hold.

I know many of you are not local but if you want to help we have a calendar here that you can sign up to visit.

I will continue to provide updates and for the time being Jim and I are filtering calls/visits so please reach out to one of us.

Thanks for your love and support of our dear friend Karen and her family.
