Judy will be having TAV-R surgery on Monday, July 17th at Abington Memorial Hospital in PA. TAV-R surgery is an alternative to open heart surgery, for those who qualify. Judy has had a heart murmur for her entire life, which can be a relatively harmless condition until older age. She had heart valve replacement surgery, via open heart procedure, 13 years ago, and received a bovine valve. Bovine valves have a life of about 12 years, so the time has come to replace hers. She has an excellent medical team for the surgery. Following surgery, she is expected to be in intensive care for 2 days and a few more days in normal hospital care. Christopher and I will be at the house to help out with meals and shopping following her surgery and throughout rehabilitation. Many thanks to everyone for your support- and if you know Judy, you know that this is a walk in the park for her. She is a character to say the least- and one tough cookie!
