Joshua Pavelko

As most are aware, on September 21, 2019 Joshua was thrown out of his truck just down the road from our house on Bear lake rd. He was air lifted to St Vincent’s in Toledo, Ohio where we spent 13 days in the icu. During this time they removed his skull and put in a drain tube because there was so much bleeding and fluid in his brain. The doctors explained he had suffered a traumatic brain injury, broken ribs, fractured vertebrae, bleeding in his spleen and liver. They told us if he pulled through that he would be forever changed due to the brain injury.  He was put on a ventilator, feeding tube and a trache.  Everyday was grueling. But Joshua finally started to wake up after 11 days. Initially he didn’t remember anyone or anything but slowly he started coming back. On the 13th day we were transferred to Mary Freebed in Grand Rapids to begin what the doctors said would most likely be a years worth of rehab.
