On June 16th, Joe's doctor told him he had some changes in his EKG.  Joe had been having pain and was feeling tired.  On June 24th, Joe had four stents placed and was admitted to the cardiovascular ICU.  We were told that Joe's heart has a lot of damage.  On Friday the 26th, Joe was told he has lung cancer.  The doctors performed a chest x-ray prior to surgery and saw a 7 cm mass.  Due to the heart condition, it took a team of doctors to determine whether Joe could tolerate treatment.  Ultimately, Joe is a fighter and is determined to live.  His doctors have been very supportive and all agreed that he can be treated with chemo and radiation for 7 weeks.
