Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. In late July, John had a CT scan that showed fairly large cancerous masses/tumors on his pancreas and spleen. He has since been diagnosed with diffuse, non-Hodgkins, extra-nodal, large B cell lymphoma. You can apparently move those adjectives around and put them in any order. His oncologist referred to this as a "zebra” diagnosis because it represented a slim 0.5% chance of occurrence based on the CT scan, rather than a far more likely (and much tougher to battle) “looks like a horse” pancreatic cancer diagnosis. John is receiving excellent care at MD Anderson Cancer Center (Making [Cancer] History tm) in Houston, his 6-cycle chemo regimen runs into late-December, and he plans on making a full recovery!
