We have begun to journey on a road we didn't in any way expect.  Just two short weeks ago in late October, a routine procedure revealed a large tumor in John's esophagus.  He has been virtually symptom-free, which allowed the tumor to silently grow and metastasize to his liver and probably to other areas of his body as well.  The shock that we've experienced in learning of this diagnosis of Stage IV cancer has been overwhelming for the two of us, as well as for all of our family and friends.  We know we are upheld by the faithfulness of our God and His comfort through the hands and hearts of so many.

As John begins chemotherapy on Monday, Nov 14, 2016, we're trusting that he will be blessed with yet more time to spend with the family and friends who love him so.   We have excellent medical care out of Wenatchee, which is networked with Seattle Cancer Care Alliance, Fred Hutch, and UW Medicine.  We've already sensed your prayers and they are making such a difference.
