What started as some memory loss and then later complete immobility (originally thought caused by numerous strokes), Joe has now been diagnosed with Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease (CJD). This disease has occurred spontaneously and unfortunately, there is no cure. He has now moved from a skilled nursing center, back to the comfort of his own home and is under the care full time by his wife, Diana and a hospice staff that visits daily.
We do not know how long we will have with him, but each minute is treasured in this important time of his life. We are using this page as a way to keep everyone updated and as way to plan visits.
We would also love for everyone to visit the guestbook, so we can share the messages with Joe.
We are open for visitors to see Joe. If you would like to plan a visit or bring a meal, please see the planner above, so we know when to expect you. Click on the day and the task you would like to accept, then hit the Accept Task button. This will make it easier on Diana, so she knows who is visiting daily and when food is being brought.
