My oncologist, the captain of my ship, says that I must go on another voyage. The first mate; my  nurse navigator, has keep me quite busy in preparation. In 6 days I have had a CT scan, an MRI, a PET scan, an intervention radiology biopsy, and the placement of a port. The results show reoccurring melanoma. Today, Wednesday, June 22, I begin a cutting-edge type of drug therapy. I'm in good company... former president Jimmy Carter is doing the same treatment with excellent results. I know that I can not take this journey alone. This past Sunday my church family was invited to join me for the trip as they laid hands to pray for me, my family, and my care team. So... high school friends, college sorority sisters, family, friends from Gig Harbor, Ohio, California, Purdy... please join me! Pray for me. Keep me your thoughts. Encourage me. Right now I'm feeling a bit beat up with pokes and prods. I might take a few days to recover from the whirlwind with a trip to Lost Lake in Shelton. After that, phone calls and visits will be welcomed. And will I probably need encouragement to get out and walk. So, all aboard! And thanks for taking the journey with me!
