The anxiously awaited day came and we received the confirmation Joani is in stage 2 of her Multiple Myeloma diagnosis.  In a way, it was quite a relief to know what we are up against!  We learned, while there is no cure, it is treatable!  So we have hope and a road map for the Marathon we are about to embark upon. She actually started her treatment Monday, December 17th!

The course of treatment includes 3 medications in a cycle of 21 days. There will be 3-4 cycles followed by a stem cell transplant. The transplant is followed by 2-3 more cycles of medications!  If all things go well, Joani will then go into maintenance mode thereafter.

We are grateful for our family and friends who have been supporting us over the past few weeks.  Without them the journey would be much more difficult.  All your prayers and positive thoughts are always welcomed and appreciated.  It is comforting knowing we are not alone!
