Good day everyone!
Below is a summary and info regarding my father's condition.  We are so thankful for all of the prayer and support we have received over the last two weeks.  It is humbling and a privilege to experience your out-pouring of love.

As you can imagine, Dad and JoEllen have been receiving calls, texts and email from hundreds of folks.  They can't even respond to them all.  If you don't mind, please check with Jim's Caring Bridge page in lieu of a call or text.  It is difficult to process all the doctor and family communications in addition to all of the wonder friends who have reached out.  You guys are awesome! Continue reading below...

We will be reading your Caring Bridge messages to dad regularly so, please post your stories, prayers and encouragement!  We are so thankful for you.

Synopsis:
On February 5th, Jim had a his gall bladder removed at Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital in Fort Worth, Texas.  He had been experiencing pain for several days leading up to the 5th.  Jim was initially diagnosed with pancreatitis in addition to gall bladder issues.  Previous lab work had been clear.

Upon removal of Jim's gall bladder, the surgeon discovered multiple tumors on his liver.  His diagnosis was the one word people fear the most, Cancer.  Last week, Jim, JoEllen and family traveled to MD Anderson in Houston for treatment

Current Diagnosis (as of 2/18/2016):
-Metastatic Adenocarcinoma of the liver.
-Doctors believe the cancer has metastasized from the pancreas.

Current Condition:

He remains in good spirits and has gained a fan club among his doctors, nurses and everyone else who has the privilege of interacting with him.

Care Team:
Jim is currently under the care of a medical team at MD Anderson in Houston Texas

Treatment (as of 2/18/2016):
-Manage pain and nausea
-Additional biopsies occurring (liver)
-Awaiting pathology and lab reports
-Treatment plan forthcoming….

History:
We've been down a similar road before.  Jim is a 2X cancer survivor.  15yrs ago he had melanoma (skin cancer) and squamous cell cancer of the vocal chord 12yrs ago.

Prayer focus verses:

- "Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need." (Hebrews 4:16 ESV)
- "I can do all things through him who strengthens me. (Phil 4:13)
