*On 9/07/2016  - dad was advised by Dr. Aswad that he did indeed have colon cancer as well as ischemic colitis. He is scheduled to have a CAT scan ASAP to check his liver and etc. The surgery will occur as soon as the CAT scan results are evaluated. Pray hard.

*On 9/09 -  dad had his CAT scan at 7:45 at the Lincolnton Hospital as well as some other lab work. Straight to Bojangles after hospital for Diet Pepsi and a Chicken biscuit...

*On 9/10  - dad was extremely weak and drained from the contrast dye used intravenously for his CAT scan. Slept and rested most of the day while drinking Gatorade and Diet Pepsi.

*On 9/11  - we went to church and then headed to Lake Norman for a Kibaraho family reunion. Dad was a completely different person today. Upbeat and back to his old self.  Yay!

*On 9/12  - the CAT scan results showed no additional cancers. It did show that the inflammation (colitis) was larger and more widespread than originally thought. The prescribed two strong antibiotics for him to take to get the infection under control before surgery. He has an appointment to meet the oncologist on Tuesday (tomorrow) for a routine visit. Currently his surgery is scheduled for 9/23. Pray harder...

On 9/13 - Dad met the oncologist today and really liked him. He set up a CT scan of his chest for next week, 9/20, just to check to make sure everything in that area is ok. The doctor seemed to answer all of their questions and was very optimistic that my active daddy would do great through this.  He goes back to see this doctor 3 weeks after his actual surgery.
